πŸ’¬ End of Year Cleaning Responsibilities

All Woodland's Team Members need to complete the following list of cleaning duties before 1:00pm on the last day of this year. This year by 1:00pm, Friday 24th December.

These duties consist of cleaning in your own room and in shared areas (staff room, laundry, storerooms, outdoors and adult bathrooms.)

 

🧼 Room Cleaning

  • All furniture in the room including tables, chairs, dramatic play furniture, soft large blocks needs to be scrubbed clean.
  • All equipment in the rooms needs to be disinfected, sorted/complete into correct containers or groups and stored on shelves.
  • All carpets vacuumed
  • All sinks scrubbed clean
  • Cupboards under the sink cleaned and organised
  • Lockers cleaned and labels removed in readiness for a new group of children
  • Tops of lockers cleared completely
  • Collage trolleys cleaned and organised in preparation for next year
  • Paint and glue pots and brushes washed thoroughly in hot water and stored in the laundry in preparation for next year in a labelled tray
  • All dough is thrown out
  • Window ledges and behind lockers cleaned
  • Items from walls removed unless it is a birthday display, aboriginal display or programming display
  • Wall cleaned of any marks
  • Easels cleaned completely of all paint
  • Windows cleaned inside and outside in the hallways

 

πŸ“¦ Storage Rooms Between Classrooms

  • Storage rooms between rooms cleaned completely
  • Sheets are stored neatly in bags. (name tags will need to be removed from the bags in preparation for a new group) Create new tags
  • Any excess sheets are folded neatly and stored
  • Label the selves in the storerooms with the names of what is to be stored in that spot eg. Sheets, puzzles, manipulative etc
  • Mattresses stacked neatly (not standing on end but lying one on top of the other please)
  • All benches cleaned and cleared of all items

 

🚽 Children’s Bathrooms/Toilets 

  • Toilets cleaned with toilet cleaner and disinfected
  • Changing mats disinfected
  • Cupboards and shelves disinfected and ordered with labels on shelves for various items
  • Sinks scrubbed clean
  • Walls disinfected
  • Doors disinfected
  • Restocked for next year
  • Disinfectant bottles refilled for next year

  • Clean all furniture
  • Empty and defrost fridges
  • Ensure all lockers are emptied and wipe clean
  • Check and organise all cupboards
  • Clean walls
  • Clean windows
  • Clean Microwave
  • Clean coffee maker
  • Clean sinks
  • Restock everything ready for next year – disinfectant, paper towel , hand sanitizer hand wash, detergent, and empty bins

  • Clean sinks including the mop sink
  • Tidy cupboards
  • Restock flour, salt, cornflour, washing powder
  • Wipeout with disinfectant the washing machine and dryer and switch off at the wall
  • Wash floors
  • Nappy storeroom and adult toilets
  • Clean, organise, disinfect, restock and tidy hallways
  • All work (except the Indigenous and multicultural wall facing the kitchen) and the map of Australia with all the photos in it, can be removed from the hallway walls
  • All walls in the passageway cleaned
  • All window ledges cleaned
  • The children’s tables and benches in the piazza to be disinfected.
  • The face washers and containers for the face washers to be sorted, folded and prepared for next year.
  • Passageway mopped

 

🏑 Outdoor Areas 

  • All verandahs swept and hosed and plants watered
  • All equipment sorted into baskets
  • Water play equipment in water play troughs
  • Sandpits covered
  • Tanbark raked and stepping stones swept
  • Any chalk on cubby or walls removed every one to remember
  • All bins emptied – cardboard and boxes in cardboard bin and all other rubbish in other bins
  • Hats and shoe lockers to be wiped out and old labels removed in preparation for next year’s new children
