📚 Guide to Performance Appraisal, Goal Development and Review.

What is a Performance Appraisal?

The Woodlands Performance review program is designed to support lifelong learning and professional development that align with the Woodlands philosophy and your learning values. The Woodlands staff performance review provides a systematic structure to build and ensure a culture of professional learners committed to supporting the educational needs of all children to thrive and succeed in current and future environments. It supports employees to achieve their career development aspirations with appropriate resources and professional development opportunities.

It is expected that all employees participate in the program to the best of their abilities and to work towards achieving the goals set. All goals set are expected to be SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time specific), this ensures the best chance for growth and development.

🧐 When do Performance Appraisal's happen?

Employees will participate in a Performance appraisal every 6 months.

🧐 Who will be conducting the Performance Appraisal?

The appraisals will be conducted by the Campus manager and then the information will be passed onto the relevant Leaders. The process will allow all Woodlanders to reflect on achievements and plan goals to accomplish performance outcomes and expectations. At all times of the Woodlands performance review process, confidentiality and sensitivity should be maintained to a high standard.

🧐 Where will this information be shared?

A copy of the Performance appraisal development plan is given to the employee. The original form is kept on the employee’s Xplor Profile.

📚 SMART goals:

It is important to set SMART professional objective for all areas that need improvement and with areas that are going well. With what is going well, reflect on what strategies were used and how did you get to the point of success? can this be challenged to build on to continue the area going well? With what is not going well, unpack together what strategies were used, why you dont think it went well, what can we do to support this area of learning.

With the SMART goals we need to reflect on our performance, with measuring the changes that have happened.

This can be achieved in a way that supports your Campus.   There will be termly informal checkins with all staff to ensure their goals are being worked on the right support is provided to each staff member.
