Woodlands recommends labelling all your child's items, belongings, and clothing
Labelling all your child's items, belongings, and clothing with their full name will help our Woodland teachers to identify your child's belongings quicker and allow them to place items or belongings into the correct locker or bag.
Woodlands encourages the following to be packed in your child's bag
👒 Broad-Rimmed Hat (Required)
- Children are required to wear sun-safe hats that protect their face, neck and ears
- A sun safe hat is a Legionnaire hat. Bucket hat with a deep crown and brim size of at least 5cm (adults 6cm)
- Baseball caps or visors do not provide enough sun protection and therefore are not recommended. Caps are also considered a hazard as they can cause serious injury to other children
💦 Water Bottle (Required)
- Childern are required to bring a labelled water bottle to Woodlands Long Day Care & Kindergarten, the water bottle will remain at Woodlands and is cleaned every night in our kitchen using the commercial-grade dishwashing machine
🩳 Change of Clothes (Required)
- Please provide spare clothing in your child’s bag to allow Woodland teachers to change your child's clothing due to being dirty, soiled, or participating in messy educational activities. This includes a spare set of socks and underwear
- Please ensure children’s clothing accommodates the weather conditions. i.e. be loose and cool in summer to prevent overheating and warm enough for cold weather – including outdoor play. At all times Woodlands teachers will monitor children to ensure they are appropriately dressed for all-weather, play experiences, rest, and sleep routines
- Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled with the child's name
🍼 Milk Bottle (If Applicable)
- Please ensure your child's milk bottles, dummies, and baby formula is labelled
- Please ensure Baby Formula is labelled with your child's name and the open date
- Woodland Teachers will clean milk bottles and place them back in your child's bag to be sterilized at home
👖 Nappy Cream (If Applicable)
- Please ensure your child's nappy cream is labelled with their full name
- The Woodland teachers will apply nappy cream when necessary or apply to children based on individual needs
- Children's nappies are changed 2-3 hours or when required

- Woodlands does not encourage children to wear any jewellery, not only are these valuable but they are also a health and safety concern for all other children at Woodlands Long Day Care & Kindergarten. Earring studs are okay, however, we do not take any responsibility for any loss or damage.
- Please think carefully about what children are wearing when sending your children to Woodlands Long Day Care & Kindergarten, if there is anything that has been bought from home which is valuable we advise you to keep these items at home.
