Woodlands Campus Monthly Team Huddles

💬 Woodlands Monthly Staff Huddles Introduction & Summary

Regular staff meetings greatly enhance each team’s communication skills and help them be more productive. Furthermore, if Woodland team members are involved with planning and hosting meetings and making decisions, they’ll more strongly trust their leaders and want to help Woodlands move forward and improve our children's education, learning, and day-to-day operations/processes.

Holding regular Team Meetings is vital to the Woodland Campuses' Success in

✅ Proving children with the best education and development programs.

✅ Proving a safe and secure environment for all Woodland patrons.

✅ Proving the Campus team with clear communications, goals, feedback, and processes to follow.

Remember to Demonstrate knowledge and acknowledgement within the teams of the Woodland Values, Mission, and Vision. (All these Values can be demonstrated and highlighted on a daily basis, and this is what makes Woodlands, Woodlands)

  • Mission To surround children and their families with the knowledge to thrive and be active members of
    their community.
  • Vision To plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit – education for life.
  • Woodlands Value - #To Thrive When we use “thrive” when speaking of educating children we
mean we are not content with just doting “i”s and crossing ‘t”s. We create environments for children to flourish, to be set up for success, to grow strong and healthy, to make progress, to expand their learnings – to thrive
  • Woodlands Value - #Respect You must have conviction. Respectfully challenge when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting; do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. But once a decision is made, we will commit to it wholeheartedly and leave ego at the door.
  • Woodlands Value - #Relate We know time is valuable, time for your family, time for fun, time for Woodlands. We need to communicate and ensure each team member understands the pressure of time and time management. Clearly communicating goals, actions and evaluations of each day is of prime importance.
  • Woodlands Value - #Reflect Our reflections embrace the concept of serving. We want to provide the best service for our families. We start with the family and work backwards to be able to provide a service that matches their expectations. Reflection on the services we provide is honest, respectful, agile and outcome driven.
  • Woodlands Value - #Agility Agility of mind and agility of learning – Agility of mind creates and embraces change, accepts that you don’t know everything, adapts, improves. The agile learning environment is and educational space that is intentionally designed to be adjustable, exchangeable and moveable. Agile learning adapts to individual differences in environment, children, staff, cultures – the total environment. Agile learning creates differentiated learning awareness and is promoting a movement toward adjustment and adaptation of, content, process, product and the learning environments.
  • Woodlands Value - #Sustainability Sustainability is not just recycling and having the “bins” to separate one piece of garbage from the other – it is so much more. Woodlands does not recycle we upcycle. Sustainability and upcycling at Woodlands is encouraged in everything we do daily and includes and continues to grow. At all Woodland Campuses, we have – solar generation of power, gardens to encourage “plant to plate”, use sustainable products in
the children’s furniture and equipment, use recycled art supplies including paper, make links with the community to upcycle single-use materials including tyres, paper, make our own paint and

🤝 Solve Problems

If a team member discusses an issue they’re having and discovers a colleague overcame the same issue, the two can work together to solve the problem and serve as an example for others. When a departmental problem develops, colleagues can discuss potential solutions until they find one that works. In addition, when interpersonal conflicts arise, they can be openly discussed in a professional manner until reaching a compromise.

💬 Provide Training and Feedback

Teammates can listen to an outside expert speak about a work-related topic or train each other to complete work-related tasks. Campus Managers should discuss with each team member which areas of work they excel in and how they can improve in other areas. By remaining open to learning and constructive feedback, staff members increase their effectiveness and help move the company forward.

🌐 Innovate

Team members can openly discuss ways to move the company in the right direction and how they can play an active role. Team members can also determine what risks they may face and obstacles they may have to overcome while implementing their plan. In addition, teammates can figure out how to measure their progress and their outcomes. Therefore, it’s important each manager encourages questions and professional debates to further develop ideas and action plans. Also, even if they don’t agree with an idea, they need to show respect and gratitude for each team member’s contribution so they feel valued and appreciated.
