Campus Manager (this may also include being the Campus Nominated Supervisor)
Report To: Owner/ Approved Provider / Head of Campuses Victoria
Qualification: Diploma of Eacrly Childhood and Care or Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
Job Title and Description: The Employer agrees to employ the Employee as a Campus Manager.
While employed as a Campus Manager, the Employee's job description and duties are as follows:
Experience, Qualifications and Training
- Relevant qualifications in accordance with Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
- Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma training with certification.
- Current Child Protection Training
- Current Working with Children Check
- Knowledge of current Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Framework and Child safe Standards.
- Appropriate skills, knowledge and training in food safety and hygiene as required under the Food Safety Legislation. (preferably has food safety supervisor certificate)
- Commitment to further study to extend understanding of Early Childhood Education.
Position Objectives
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with parents and children and educators effectively, ensuring interactions are supportive of Woodlands Philosophy, CoreValues, Code of Conduct, National Quality Standards Areas 5 and 6, and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics.
- To support the Leader of Teaching and Learning to implement programmes which have a commitment to active involvement of families and the local community, inclusive of all children's strengths, needs, abilities and interests and enable the centre to meet the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the requirements of the Victorian Kindergarten Policy.
- Develop, distribute and maintain staffing rosters that meet the needs of the Campus and the current National Education and Care Services Regulations.
- Ensure the day-to-day administrative operation of the centre.
- Maintenance of accounts and records.
- Maintain accurate, up to date record of visitors to the centre and all inquiries.
- Ensure that an inventory of centre equipment is maintained and that materials are safely stored.
- Ensure the reasonable use of limited resources.
- Manage Staff files and payroll requirements in accordance with current Fair Work Legislation and current Education and Care Services legislation.
- Actively work to reduce and maintain centre debt levels at or below Woodlands set benchmark
- Actively work to increase and maintain campus occupancy at or above Woodlands set benchmark, tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring staff and centre are guided and supported to maintain a safe, clean and well maintained environment
- Tours for prospective families
- Developing and participating in current business marketing strategies
- Implement and maintain an effective campus wide self assessment and quality improvement process, in accordance with the current National Quality Standards, including developing and maintaining the currency of the Campus Quality Improvement Plan
- Building trusting relationships with parents and families and confidently be able to discuss administration and account matters.
- Demonstrate highly developed oral communication skills with parents, families, children and educators.
- Demonstrate a high standard of literacy and written communication skills for documenting observations and programming and planning.
- Demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Work within Legislation to ensure service provision is equitable.
- Ability to develop and work within budgets, and maintain resources in rooms and throughout the Centre.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with a number of urgent matters at once.
- Sound knowledge of current Early Childhood Education and Care best practices in relation to The National Quality Standards, and Early Years Learning and Development Framework, working with the Leader of Teaching and Learning to ensure consistency across the education and care service.
- Sound knowledge of child development in relation to children's developmental milestones.
- Sound knowledge of child health including nutritional requirements, infectious diseases and Infection control.
- Ensure children's documentation is current and communicated effectively to required members of staff in regards to children's; allergies, dietary requirements, and management plans.
- Sound knowledge of links to a wide range of health services and health professionals in the community.
- Sound knowledge of the administrative functions of the organisation.
- Sound knowledge of the reporting requirements and procedures requested by the Department of Education and Training.
- Sound knowledge of the policies, procedures and philosophy of the service.
- Sound knowledge of financial management including budget development and review of expenditure against budget, utilisation and staffing levels.
- Develop and maintain information systems for effective communication with families, and educators.
- Ensure the service is meeting the needs of families by seeking regular feedback.
- Ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained.
- Continuously practice best practices for children and professionals.

Sustainability and upcycling at Woodlands is encouraged in everything we do daily and includes and continues to grow. At all Woodland Campuses we have – solar generation of power, gardens to encourage “plant to Plate”, use sustainable products in the children’s furniture and equipment, use recycled art supplies including paper, make links with the community to upcycle single use materials including tyres, paper, make our own paint and glue.

Occupational Health and Safety
- The Campus Manager is appointed the role of “Chief Warden” In the event of an Emergency, the Chief Warden should;
- Be capable of performing their duties.
- Have leadership qualities and command authority.
- Have maturity of judgement, good decision-making skills and be capable of remaining calm under pressure.
- Be available to undertake their appointed duties and spend most of their time at, or near, their workstations.
- Be capable of effectively communicating with occupants and visitors.
- Be capable of deputizing for other positions.
- Be able to undergo relevant training.
- Agree to attend and participate in regular training for Emergency Procedures, including but not limited to; fire evacuation (drills) rehearsals, full evacuation (off-site), partial evacuation (on-site) and lockdown procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding for Emergency Procedures and individuals roles and responsibilities when completing including but not limited to; fire evacuation (drills) rehearsals, full evacuation (off-site), partial evacuation (on-site) and lockdown procedures
- Ensure a thorough understanding of Primary Assembly Points; Internally and Off-Site Assembly Point and Secondary Assembly Points;
- Take responsibility to read and understand relevant information and to assist other educators to do so too.
- Take reasonable care to protect safety in the workplace and avoid adversely affecting the health, safety and welfare of any other person through any act of omission, neglect or misconduct at work.
- Ensure work practices are consistently within Commonwealth and State Legislation and organisational guidelines relating to Occupational Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity and Anti Discrimination in the workplace.
- Ensure evacuation drills, lockdown procedures first aid and accident/incident management and reporting are completed.
- To make sure supervision of children, indoors and outdoors and staff ratios are adequate at all times.
- To remove any unsafe items/equipment until repairs are completed.
- To ensure that the centre is clean and tidy, ensuring that all materials and equipment are collected and packed away safely.
- To ensure children leave the centre clean, tidy and with all possessions.
- Ensure the security of the centre at all times.
- Ensure the neat; clean wearing of the centre staff uniform by all staff.
External and Internal Relationships
- Maintain a supportive role with all staff, volunteers and students on a daily basis.
- Ensure a close working supportive relationship and effective communication with the licensee, staff and parents in the conduct of the centre.
- Represent Woodlands if required, in public forums or professional settings.
- Act as an advocate for the provision of quality care, and the benefits of Woodlands Services.
Other duties.
The Employee will also perform such other duties as are customarily performed by an employee in a casual position in other businesses or enterprises that are the same or similar to that of the Employer, and the Employee will agree to reasonable changes in the Employee's duties.
